Immigration services special pass
The special pass allows individuals who wish to enter Kenya or remain in Kenya for a limited period for the purpose of applying a review of a decision denying a permit , applying for a permit or pass or temporarily conducting any business, trade or profession for a short duration not exceeding three (3) months.

Dependent Pass
These passes are issued to spouses, kids and dependent of a permit holder.
Application Requirements
- Duly filled and signed application Form 28
- Detailed cover letter addressed to the Director General of Immigration Services
- Copy of valid National passport (bio-data page)
- Current immigration status for both the applicant and the dependent
- Current two (2) passport size colored photos of the dependent
- Evidence of the relationship between the applicant and the dependent
- Proof of sufficient and assured income to sustain self and the dependent
- Sworn affidavit of incapacity/inability to sustain self (dependent)
- A valid copy of work permit- at least six months to its expiry (for applicants holding work permits)

Kenya Special Pass
Kenya Special passes are issued to individuals who would like to conduct any business, trade, or profession or those wishing to apply for another permit in-country.
This visa may be granted for up to 90 days.
Application Requirements
- Application Form 32 duly filled, signed and stamped by organization
- Detailed cover letter from the applicant/organization addressed to the Director General of Immigration Services
- Current Two (2) passport size colored photos
- Current immigration status (if in the country)
- Copy of valid national passport
- Copy of registration certificate of the organization
- Academic and professional certificates of the applicant
- Copy of any permit or passes held.
- Copy of any official receipt or acknowledgement for those waiting for permits processing.
- Clearance letter (where applicable) from the relevant

Student/Internship/research Pass
A student’s pass or internship pass is issued to foreign nationals who wish to pursue their education in Kenya’s education or training institutions, or those who wish to undertake an internship or take part in academic research in an accredited institution in Kenya.
The validity of the pass is depending on the duration of studies,
the duration of the internship, or research assignment.
Application Requirements
- Online application
- Cover letter from the relevant Kenyan education or training institution, where applicable
- Cover letter from the institution indicating the internship or research topic and duration, where applicable
- Signed commitment letter from the sponsor, where applicable
- Proof of funds for self-sponsored students, where applicable
- Consent letter from the parent, where applicable
- Copy of parent’s passport, and copy of a birth certificate, where applicable
- Copy of research permit from the National Council for Science and Technology, where applicable
